The Client Service Analyst will assist in delivering equity and foreign exchange transaction cost analyses to institutional asset managers. The intern will perform research into the effectiveness of the investment management process and practices of asset managers, such as mutual funds and hedge funds. Other projects will include developing business requirements between the client (internal and external) and technical groups related to ITG’s TCA product suite. The ideal candidate will have a strong quantitative approach/background and an understanding of statistical methods used when analyzing market data. This position requires someone who can think on his or her feet and learn new subject matter quickly. The successful candidate has past experience in finance and should be highly motivated and driven to proactively engage clients and understand their needs.
Responsibilities:
- Review, analyze, and evaluate business systems and client needs in support of designing technical solutions
- Prepare client reports for consultants/senior client services data analysts
- Prepare accurate reports in a timely manner to allow proactive monitoring of development projects
- Assist in the creation and maintenance of test documentation such as test plans, matrixes, test reports, bug reports and project statuses
- Work with development staff, project managers, and operations staff to maintain open communication channels and act as a business/technical liaison
- Assist in translating business requirements into functional specifications and traditional data models
- Perform relational database analysis on existing data, and assist in identifying root causes for data inaccuracies, through the use of database query tools
- Generate and review non-standard reports and perform data exports
- Create custom product presentations based on client research requests
Skills/Qualifications:
- Strong technical skills particularly in SQL and in relational databases
- Demonstrated ability to gather and understand business requirements
- Interest in financial/trading applications
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, handle multiple tasks simultaneously and adapt quickly to changes in a deadline-oriented production environment
- Technical Skills include: Financial/Trading applications, Microsoft Access, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Relational Databases, Scripting Languages, SQL, Textpad, and Wordpad
Education/Experience Requirements:
Current Junior or First Year Master’s Candidate
Degree discipline(s) required: Finance, Economics, Engineering, Operations Research background or coursework is preferred
